DO NOT RENT FROM HERTZ IN GENEVA. I read the bad reviews here and thought they were simply outliers. However, unfortunately they are not and this location appears to be running some kind of scam by refusing to inspect vehicles while you are returning them and then simply charging unsuspecting tourist’s credit cards for fabricated damage.

Upon returning the car, while there was an employee present at the counter, they would not come and look at the car with me, simply telling me they would look at it later. In retrospect, I should have insisted.

While in line for customs, I received an email saying the vehicle had been damaged and there was a scratch on the rim of the wheel. You only need to search the reviews here to see how often they seem to find these scratches—clearly it’s the easiest thing to fabricate. Despite charging me more than $400 for this damage to the rim, there was not even a photo included in the report from Hertz. I took a video as I returned it, and the rim is in pristine condition without so much as a mark.

I do not understand how the Swiss authorities or Hertz corporate allow this location to go on operating and perpetuating fraud against unsuspecting tourists. I will be pursing this claim with Hertz and my credit card, but the hours I am going to have to spend on this is a sad end to a fantastic location and a blight on Geneva tourism.

Just for fun, I’m including a screenshot of the $400 worth of damage to the rim that is supposedly on the lower left quarter of this wheel. Please let me know if you can find it!

Je suis très satisfait de mon expérience avec cette agence. Dès le départ, les chargés de clientèle n’hésitent pas à conseiller aux clients de faire un tour du véhicule et de prendre des photos ou vidéos des éventuels dommages, ce que j’ai fait, et cela m’a rassuré pour la suite. Les véhicules sont en excellent état, bien entretenus, et le processus de location est simple et transparent.

Un grand merci à Aymen pour son professionnalisme et sa disponibilité. Il a su rendre cette expérience agréable et fluide. Contrairement à certains avis négatifs, je n’ai rencontré aucun souci. Je recommande vivement cette agence pour son sérieux et la qualité de son service.

Expérience absolument parfaite avec Hertz à l'aéroport de Genève ! L'accueil était irréprochable, et en prime, nous avons eu la chance d’être surclassés, ce qui a vraiment ajouté un plus à notre séjour. Très apprécié !

Seul petit bémol, qui n'impacte en rien l'excellente expérience : nous avons demandé deux sièges autos pour nos jumeaux, et nous aurions préféré qu'ils soient déjà installés dans la voiture, car dans le parking, entre les autres véhicules, c'était un peu compliqué.

Mais tout le reste était parfait, du début à la fin. Je recommande vivement !

Treated very badly by the guy at the front desk. Walked away having spent an additional 450 francs for no clear reason. Two weeks on I still haven’t received any money back from my deposit despite them telling me it would come through. Zero communication from them and didn’t even get the car I initially requested. 4 days cost £1029. Never again
