Eine sehr freundliche Dame erledigte Abholung und Rückgabe des Mietwagens schnell, kompetent und überaus freundlich. Kurze Wege, praxisgerechte Öffnunszeiten, ein fast neuer Wagen und unkomplizierter Small-Talk ließen die Automiete zum Kinderspiel werden.

Everything was perfect! No issues with the car or extra charges. I had to return the car out of opening hours, which was not a problem as they have a safe to leave the keys in the parking lot

The worst customer service I have experienced in a long time. We arrived on May 1 (a national holiday in Germany) after having booked through a third party company and when we arrived we just found the desk closed with a sign saying the desk is now closed until the next day. When we phoned budget, the lady on the phone was very unhelpful. she interrupted me and didn't even allow us to ask questions, basically told us it was our fault that we were stranded at the airport because we booked through a third party and if we have any issues to take it up with the third party, and then hang up the phone! when trying to call again, the automated message simply said to call back during office hours. This was 14:30 on a Tuesday! Incidentally two other reputable car rental companies were open (we had to use them in the end, since Budget had no interest in caring for their customers). I have rented cars from budget before and have had good experiences, but this time I am saddened to say that I have never experienced such an unprofessional and disappointing service as in Germany.

I was completely disapointed with my last Budget car rental experience in Dortmund airport. The rental company debited my account without my permission invoking an indent pretented to be done by myself.LuckilIy took a video footage of the car the moment I return it because nobody from the company did any inspection.When I showed them the movie proofing the date and place with the damage- free car, with a unbelievable
sarcasm they stated that I did it when I took over the car!
After a long email exchange they return the amount.
Be very carefull and ask always a final inspection when returning the car.

Additional charges for no reason!
Awful customer service!
Save yourself the money, time and headache! Don't use their services!
Here are the details.
We rented two cars(separately) from Budget/Avis through Rentalcars for 2nd November 2019 in Dortmund, Germany.
Couple of days after car return our deposit(around 120 EUR) was unblocked, but we were charged additional 25 EUR each.
There was no information in our e-recipts about any penalties or any particular service whose cost is 25 EUR.
We opened cases from our Rentalcars reservations.
My friend's money was returned shortly as it was claimed to be a mistake. Unfortunately mine wasn't.
One month later after couple of calls and tens of emails to both Budget and Rentalcars still no resolution.
They haven't even answered what's the reason for this additional charge.
I was going to give up but ... surprise, surprise ... I was charged again another 25 EUR by another car rental company from Germany(and I haven't been in the country for one month).
I initiated a chargeback with my bank. Hopefully transactions will be cancelled.
Me and my friends will never use Rentalcars or Budget/Avis services again.
You better don't, too.

Budget Germany was unable to release a car that was already paid for and that had full insurance.
The reason was that I had to make a deposit only by using a card with my name on it, which I did not have on me.
I offered to pay with my wife's phisical card, wireless with my card, and cash.
No option was valid for them.
They closed the agency at 22.00, leaving me alone in the front desk without a car.
I had no other options but taking a bus and a train to arrive to my destination.
This is a huge lack of empathy and lack of backup options.
