I can't believe how much this is gone downhill. Book to reservation this afternoon for today for the week because a vehicle broke down. I'm a gold corporate member with Hertz through work and have used them for many years. Being a gold member you can make a reservation and give them your driver's licence and leave it's very fast normally. Whether the changes they have made they now require a $200 deposit which was nowhere listen on the app or the website when I made the reservation and is news to me. On top of that every customer service rap was more than willing to tell me what they couldn't do and all of their limitations but known was truly willing to help me rent a car. When we attempted to pick up the vehicle the customer service rep Staring down at his keyboard while he was typing and attempting to speak to me at the same time with a mask on his communication was extremely muffled and asked him to look at me so that I could hear him. I apologise for making him repeat himself but after the 3rd and 4th time of asking him to look up when he was talking to me that I could not have him repeat himself I was getting frustrated my 9 year old takes better direction. Apparently now you can't rent cars with debit cards anymore even though that is the card that is on mine goldmember account. Cast for a credit card and swipe he told me no and I like OK so I assumed he meant declined because I know my credit cards some of them require me to call the credit card company before you make a purchase. However upon checking after leaving frustrated from the airport without a vehicle I found that my credit cards were not the issue but his credit card reader. So I contact customer service via phone to see if I can Prepaid for the reservation before picking it up. So true customer service fashion that o jave been receiving at this point I was told all the things that she couldn't do for me and nothing that she could do for me so I started tossing out ideas or potential solutions and asking if we could do those things and she told me no. She told me that they can't override anything that is done at the Counter. Which made me even more confused because I wasn't able to get anything accomplished at the counter. When I ask her she understood what my concern in questions were she reverted back to an answer sheet already given me about the deposit and I informed her we were past that. That she answered my question my question now was can I pay for the rental over the phone.

If you want to know all the things that Hertz can't do for you then surely contact their customer service because they are well abreast of what the organisation limits are you want to rent a car go somewhere else.
