My experience with Dr. Juan M. Acosta's office was horrible right from the start.
The front desk receptionist is incredibly rude and has a terrible attitude. She speaks to you in a condescending tone, as if you're in trouble or stupid for even asking questions. It's shocking how someone with such a poor attitude is working in a role that requires communication with patients. I was made to feel uncomfortable and unwelcome throughout the entire interaction. If you're expecting a smooth, respectful experience, you will be sorely disappointed here. Definitely wouldn't recommend.

He estado yendo al Doctor Acosta durante varios años, ahora su oficina ha sido muy útil con cada situación o inquietud médica que tengo. Las referencias siempre han sido acertadas y el personal es increíble, desde PA Stacy hasta Cesar, y todo el resto del personal ha sido muy útil. Estoy muy agradecido de tenerlo como mi Doctor. Está convenientemente ubicado en varias oficinas si una oficina no está disponible. tiene otros que son. Honestamente, lo recomendaría a cualquiera que tenga Iehp, nunca tuve un problema, es una excelente oficina y personal.

I’ve been going to Doctor Acosta for Several years now his office has been so helpful with every situation or medical concern I have. Referrals have always been on point and the staff are awesome from PA Stacy to Cesar and all the other staff have been very helpful I’m very grateful to have him as my PCP he’s conveniently located in several offices if one office isn’t available he has other ones that are. Honestly would recommend him to anybody that has Iehp, I never had an issue it’s a great office & staff.

I give it a one star only because my Dr isn't Dr Acosta.... For it being his practice he's very unprofessional, his staff is unprofessional. Seems like the staff are still attending school like they barely know how to assist with patients or taking care of the front. The dr. Acosta needs to change his attitude towards his patients and change the staff there immediately, at least with someone more qualified to handle patients. I continue to go there because of the Dr I have she is great understanding and helpful.

Doctor is never in office. Patients get referred to intern doctors. Referrals to get medication takes forever. I have to contact doctor's office every single day for a glucose monitor and a referral for a psychologists. When called for answers, no one seems to know the answers.

I became a patient at La Clinica Medica after my Medicare plan terminated coverage in Riverside County (second plan to do that to me in the past few years). Since I am not age 65 yet, the only plans available to me are Medicare Advantage HMO's. The only HMO my pain doctor is contracted with participates in the Brand New Day HMO. In order to keep my long time pain doctor, I chose Brand New Day. Dr. Acosta is the only primary care in Coachella Valley on that plan. I have not met him, I have only dealt with the P.A. Stacy St Pierre, who is very on the ball and thorough. I have nothing but good things to say about her care and attention to detail. Usually I do not go to the doctor unless something is severely wrong that I am unable to deal with myself (typical man thing, I hear). So, I have only been to see her 2 times, and have had two other phone consultations during the pandemic, one for respiratory infection, one for intestinal parasites. I have always received everything I needed, and have nothing but thanks for this clinic, even though it is on the opposite end of the valley from my home. Maybe Brand New Day can enroll more primary care physicians in Coachella Valley as the new the plan grows, but there is a medical provider shortage as it is, and the Medicare plan situation out here is abysmal, given that most of them contract with the anti-cannabis pain clinic, and not my pain clinic where the use of non-psychoactive THCa drops, topical lotions, cannabis oils, and plain old smokable bud is accepted as part of the pain battle. These products have allowed me to DECREASE my opioid use over the past 12 years, instead of having to increase the dosage over time, which is how it usually goes with chronic pain. Opioids become less effective for chronic pain patients. So, to keep my treatment on track and working for me, I chose the health plan where La Clinica Medica became my primary care doctor, and now I am in the second year with them, and am very thankful for the care and service.
