Buyer's Beware:

This car agency conducts illegal business practices like selling illegal bundles that violate the Brazilian consumer laws.

Details:
- My flight arrival got delayed and the Europcar shuttle wasn't available to pick me up (regular business hours!). I had to take an Uber to their agency in the Hamptons hotel.
- Arriving at the agency: Europcar claimed that, due to the 2 hour pick up delau, they could not honor my reservation unless I also purchase their car insurance.
- The forced bundle selling practice is considered an illegal by Brazilian consumer laws.
- I was forced to accept their offer otherwise they would charge me a no show/cancellation fee (plus I didn't have another alternative to rent a car last minute).

Fidèle à Europcar depuis 20 ans, jamais vu une telle médiocrité dans une agence Europcar. Aucun guichet Europcar dans le Terminal Guarulhos d'arrivée, personne de l'agence Europcar GRU Airport ne répondait au téléphone à 7:30 du matin. Le comptoir se trouve à 15min de Taxi dans l'hotel Hampton. L'employée Europcar qui n'est visiblement pas du matin confond la droite et la gauche sur les pictogrammes lors de l'état des lieux. Au retour du véhicule, elle tente de nous imputer un impact sur le pare-brise qu'elle n'avait pas daigné répertorier. Après avoir insisté pour voir l'etat des lieux de sortie du précédent conducteur nous parvenons à prouver que l'impact était déjà renseigné donc déjà présent avant notre prise du véhicule. Finalement elle nous facture un lavage car le véhicule "n'est plus aussi propre qu'au début de la location" (forcément puisque nous l'avons utilisé pendant 1 semaine). Cette enseigne locale de Europcar n'est pas digne du réseau international que l'on connaît. Nous choisirons une autre marque la prochaine fois, qui dispose d'un guichet dans l'aéroport et d'une vraie attendance.

NO alquiles en este lugar.

1- No nos buscaron en el aeropuerto
2- No tenían el nivel de auto por el que nos cobraron, nos dieron un auto desastroso ( Logan manual y pagamos un Voyage automático )
3- Nos dieron un auto sin luces y tuvimos que esperar a que lo arreglen para poder viajar. 2hs
4- Pésima experiencia y sin sentido.
Es hasta más caro y no tiene lógica. Un error elegirlos.

Mejor elige las clásicas agencias como Movida, Localiza o Foco.

Nos arruinaron el principio del viaje.

Las encargadas de la agencia pusieron la mejor predisposición, sus gerentes deberían renunciar.

rent with another company! we chose Europcar expecting high level customer service from this international car rental company. Unfortunately, our experience was very negative and the customer service disappointing, not a single person speaking basic English which made communication very difficult. We had a problem when returning the car, but the staff was unwilling to help /give assistance and did not make any effort to find a solution.

We went with Europcar as it was a well known brand where we live (Australia) and we expected a modern comfortable vehicle fitted with comfortable child seats.
What we got was an aged vehicle with uncomfortable child seats which I had to install myself, so old that the instructions were worn off. When I asked for help they claimed a language barrier and I had to figure it out myself. Once I returned to our accomodation I found the buckles would not click properly to secure our child. This was the last straw for us so we decided to return the vehicle.
When we arrived they offered a vehicle upgrade, and a new car seat for our child, but we decided we would be better off elsewhere.
Went to Localiza and they were superb. Great customer service where they provided us with a comfortable, modern vehicle. Localiza helped us choose a child seat then installed for us, on the spot. Localiza were also slightly cheaper and there was a big difference in the security deposit (2000 real at localiza and 6000 real at europcar).
A message for foreign visitors, I learnt that localiza and movida are the larger car hire places in brazil, whereas europcar has a very small market share, making the former companies a lot more competitive/attractive.
Next time we visit (my partner is from Sao Paulo), we won't book a car in advance, we will go straight from the airport to localiza and make a deal in person.

Fiz uma reserva nesta agência pelo Expedia, meu voo atrasou 2 horas em Brasília devido uma pane elétrica. No site dizia que havia Shuttle do aeroporto a locadora, não tinha ... tive que ir de Uber. Chegando lá minha reserva havia caído por causa do atraso do meu voo e fiquei sem carro ! Dei 5 estrelas SOMENTE porque as 2 funcionárias Anne e Sigrid foram extremante prestativas e atenciosas, se ofereceram para ajudar a conseguir alugar o carro em outra locadora, já que eles não tinham nenhum carro disponível ! Nota 1.000 para as funcionárias !

Me cobraron doble seguro: desde la página y desde el local. Con seguro te bloquean 2000 reales, sin seguro te bloquean 14000. Van 3 días y todavía no me cancelaron el cobro.
