They didn't have the car I booked which was a 4 door ford fiesta supermini. I needed the car as I was visiting my 85 year old mother in hospital after she was revived from heart attack, put in induced coma where she got pneumonia, and then had a stroke a few days later, so it was touch and go. They offered me a panda 500 which was 2 doors and too small, but didn't offer the price difference (approx. €4 a day). Instead they gave me the keys of an unknown car I didn't recognise, thinking it will be a supermini, as they didn't tell me which type of car it was. It ended up being a Dacia SUV which is much longer than a supermini and takes up more space when parking which is already limited at the hospital roadside parking areas.

I needed to get to the hospital for important visit with moms given power of attorney, as it needed to be changed into my name, at the time, so didn't have time to get a refund there and then. When I phoned up later to change the car they simply laughed and said "we don't have such motor in the fleet". So they took payment and falsely advertised something they don't even have in stock.

I also received 3 booking confirmation emails, all with different prices on, for different cars, and non of them is for the car I've got. Very unprofessional. They seem like a bunch of cowboys / gangsters at that Hertz station.

I will be using Eurocar again next time. Slightly more expensive but no hidden fees and my deposit was refunded fully so works out a lot cheaper in the end. Don't get enticed in by cheap internet quotes from Hertz.

I will be making a formal complaint as this added stress to an already stressful visit, by their unprofessional and dishonest dealings, is unacceptable. Eurocar is much better and only 5 meters away from the Hertz desk. Never again with Hertz. They should be ashamed of themselves.
